Doubles League Rules
Playing solo? Please visit the Wallingford Singles Ladder site for the rules.
1. MATCH LOCATION
Please do not use the Choate courts until further notice!
Matches are to be played at Choate Rosemary Hall or Doolittle Park, according to the schedules listed on your applicable Teams & Schedules page.
2. MATCH FORMAT
Matches are best two out of three sets.
3. RAIN-OUTS
The make-up match day for all leagues — MEN, WOMEN & MIXED — is Friday.
4. SUBSTITUTES
Matches are to be played only on designated day and are not to be moved. If you can't make a match, you must get a sub. You can use your own sub, or someone from the league sub list. If both players can't make it, you can use two subs. Male players CANNOT sub for female players. "A" league players CANNOT sub for "B" league players. Players CANNOT sub for another player within their own league (e.g. If you play on a team in Mixed A, you cannot sub for another player in Mixed A). If subs can not be found, you will have to forfeit - no exceptions will be made this year. Subs CANNOT be used for ANY playoff matches.
5. PARTNER CHANGES
Permanent partner changes can be made anytime, for any reason (injury, moved, dropped out, etc.) — however, you must report this change immediately to Steve Pepe (stevenpepe17@yahoo.com) AND you must have played at least the last two matches of the regular season with your new partner to have that partner be eligible for playoffs.
6. SCORE REPORTING
Winners must report their score after the conclusion of each match using our online form. If you have trouble with the form, please contact Steve Pepe (stevenpepe17@yahoo.com) or Kelly L'Heureux (polymathux@gmail.com) ASAP. Please do not make us track down scores!!!
7. NEW CAN OF BALLS
Both teams must bring a new can of balls to each match. The winning team gets to keep the unopened can.
8. NO FIGHTING
If you're having a problem with any team or players and it can't be resolved, please report the issues to Steve Pepe (stevenpepe17@yahoo.com) immediately, who will address the issue.
9. PARKING AT CHOATE
Do not park on the grass, only in designated parking spots. If there is no room near the courts, you must park on the street. Playing at Choate is a privilege - not a right.
